Spring Lake
Purple Loosestrife (shown above) has infested the the southern portion of this lake. A biological technique using beetles is being used to control the spread of this aggressive invasive species.

Description:
Spring Lake is a small lake near Petoskey State Park in Emmet County. Although the lake is less than a half mile from Little Traverse Bay, it is part of the Cheboygan River Watershed and drains over 40 miles east into Lake Huron via the Inland Waterway.
