Technical Services
Our mission is to protect lakes, streams, wetlands, and ground water. The goal of our technical services program is identical to our organizational goal - to protect and properly manage our invaluable water resources. We do this by advocating strict adherence to resource protection regulations, utilizing and promoting state-of-the art best management practices, providing expert opinion, offering water monitoring and survey services, and taking every opportunity to educate our clients and the public about proper water resource management. We achieve our mission by empowering others and we believe in the capacity to make a positive difference. We work in Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, and Emmet Counties, regionally, and throughout the Great Lakes Basin to achieve our goals.
The Watershed Council has a long history of collaborating with other organizations to protect lakes, streams, rivers, and wetlands. Because of our highly skilled staff and extensive science and policy experience in virtually all aspects of water resources, we are often called upon by other organizations and local initiatives to provide assistance. This assistance can take many forms, but the purpose is always the same - helping the organization or citizen initiative become more effective at protecting water resources.
