Northern Michigan Clean Waters Challenge 2021

August 7-14, 2021

After 15 years, our annual Bear River Cleanup is taking on an exciting new form as a region-wide family cleanup event! With members of your family or groups of friends, clean a reserved stretch of beach or river and collect as much trash as possible! Learn more about up-to-date safety recommendations at michigan.gov/coronavirus.

Be sure to take photos during your cleanup and post them on social media (Facebook or Instagram) for a chance to win prizes from our partner, Bearcub Outfitters! And don't forget to tag us and include the hashtag #cleanwaterschallenge2021 to be eligible to win.

Prizes: join the challenge in-person at Bearcub Outfitters and be entered to win a Keen frisbee and Platypus water bottle. Register and post and tag us in your photos during the challenge and be entered to win a $50 Bearcub Outfitters gift card, or an exclusive Watershed Council cookbook, t-shirt, and notecard set. Participant Waiver and Release Form Liability

I, the undersigned, am a volunteer participant, or am the parent or legal guardian of such a volunteer participant, for a Watershed Council event or activity. In consideration of my participation in such event, (or that of any volunteer participant for whom I am a parent or legal guardian), I hereby release, discharge, hold harmless and forever acquit the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council, and their officers, agents, representatives and employees from any and all claims, demands, damages, rights of action, causes of action, or any liabilities whatsoever, however caused, known or unknown now existing or which may arise in the future, on account of or in any way related to or arising out of participation in this event. Further, I assume all liability of any non-participants who may accompany me. I understand and agree that by accepting this Agreement on behalf of any person other than myself, I am representing and warranting that I am legally authorized to execute this Agreement as either the parent or legal guardian of that person and/or Minor Participant(s), or that I have been given the express authority and permission from that other person to accept the terms and conditions of this Agreement on each of their behalf, and I further understand that by doing so I agree to PERSONALLY INDEMNIFY, HOLD HARMLESS AND DEFEND the Released Parties from and against any and all claims brought by or on behalf of the Minor Participant(s), or any person on whose behalf I have executed this Agreement, should they refuse to accept or carry out the terms and conditions of this Agreement.

I hereby grant the Watershed Council and Bearcub Outfitters permission to use my likeness in a photograph, video, or other digital media (“photo”) in any and all of its publications, including web-based publications, without payment or other consideration. I hereby irrevocably authorize the {Name of Organization} to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, or distribute these photos for any lawful purpose. In addition, I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein my likeness appears. Additionally, I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of the photo. I hereby hold harmless, release, and forever discharge the Watershed Council and Bearcub Outfitters from all claims, demands, and causes of action which I, my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons acting on my behalf or on behalf of my estate have or may have by reason of this authorization.
